About Me

Known for her sassiness and flare style dance moves, Jamaelya Hines was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. As someone who was very active throughout her childhood, performing became a large part of her life by the age of nine. She trained at the Betty Johnson School of Dance, now known as Bender Performing Arts. Four years later, she was invited to join Dance Motion Performing Company. Throughout her years in the company she trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, tumbling and hip hop.

Along with dance, Jamaelya was involved in competitive show choir from 7th through 12th grade. Being active in two different show choir groups led her to being involved in the Arizona All-State Show Choir and national competition group that toured the country.

Jamaelya continued her dance training at Columbia College Chicago and soon Marymount Manhattan College where obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Dance degree. She continued her commercial dance and vocal training at Broadway Dance Center for two years. Jamaelya has performed in various dance shows along with dancing for Norwegian Cruise Lines. Currently, she is performing in Stew as Scripps Ranch Theater.
